Rise and shine! Had to be up at 5:30am (after going to bed at 12:30am!) in order to be at Denali National Park by 7am to try and get a ticket for the shuttle bus. Oh so tired family!
Had some quick breakfast, packed up and got to the park about 7:30am, but couldn't get tickets until the 10am shuttle. So we just hung out in the rv in the parking lot until it was our take off time. Chuck made a quick brunch of chilli dogs
I had to take a photo with the fanny pack that Grandma Karen let me borrow that the kids are soooo making fun of me for! But hey all my stuff is safe and secure and I don't have to carry it!
The shuttle tour has 3 options: 6 hour tour, 8 hour tour, or 11 hour tour, so we opted for the 8 hour tour.
In short, it took longer to tour Denali than it took to fly to Alaska!! But was so worth it because we saw moose, caribou, grizzly bears and dall sheep!
Plus got some great family pics and scenery pics
It's a little colder in Denali than Fallbrook..
These are both quilts!!!
Couldn't get a pic of Mount McKinley because too many clouds ;(
We were all soooo tired on the shuttle ride back, I think I feel asleep with my mouth open 30 times! Plus these two would have to be completely passed out to fall asleep like this...
Bye bye Denali, hate to leave but must move on...
Time to go back down south the way we came towards Anchorage to our final destination at the Kenai Peninsula/Seward area. It's about an 8 hour drive from Denali so we are going to stay just outside of Denali for the night and probably do half of the drive tomorrow.
