Made it to the Kenai Peninsula!

Helloooo day 4! After spending the night at Byers Lake campground just outside of Denali and falling asleep to the sound of large rain drops on the roof, we woke up to the sound of Chuck driving us away at 7am, coffee made, yet without a formal wake up call...however kids continued sleeping for almost two hours of driving! Made it to the nearest Walmart in about 2 1/2 hours where we restocked hopefully all of the food we will need for the rest of our trip. From there we headed back through Anchorage again on the Alaska highway and crossed over to the Seward highway. Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful views on the south west side of Anchorage at what is called the Turnagain Arm (a sliver of ocean water that comes in and meets the land and looks like a GIANT river)! It was however the most windy place we've ever experienced in our lives!! A little scary in an RV!
Weird face because of wind which you can't see in picture so you'll just have to trust me!
From Turnagain Arm it was about another 4 hours to the town of Kenai. Along the way we saw rivers and creeks and lakes galore. In total we drove 320 miles today which basically took all day. Alaska driving is slower than California where you could drive 320 miles in just over 5 hours. On the way we reserved an awesome campground called Beluga Whale rv park which is right on a bluff overlooking a piece of the ocean called the Cook Inlet and I'm guessing they must see Beluga whales here a lot (I wanna see one too!!!!!) Kids and I took in the views while Chuck cleaned the gross dirt and food covered floors bleh and then we started some laundry mostly because we needed towels. Very exciting.. we discovered raspberries growing right next to our rv spot!
View from our camp spot...love the snow capped mountains and pine trees next to the ocean, are you kidding me I mean where else can you find that but Alaska?!
Rented the kids these bikes from our rv park...
Then took a walk down to the beach...

They all had to get their feet wet in the freezing Alaska waters, but I chickened out at the last minute and just felt it with my hands eeeek it was cold! Chuck teaching grace to skip rocks...
And finally, at the edge of the camp ground (right next to our spot haha) we found this sign...ONLY IN ALASKA!!! Love it!!!
